Smirnoff’s origins trace back to a distillery established by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov in Moscow in 1864. However, the Russian Prohibition in the early 20th century forced a dramatic shift for the company. In 1923, Smirnov’s son, Vladimir, relocated to Poland with the help of investors, continuing the family legacy despite the challenges.
